Weekly poll results: Sony fans love the Xperia 10 VII

Sony continues to stand apart in the smartphone market, and so do its loyal fans. In last week’s poll, Xperia supporters made their voices heard, showing overwhelming enthusiasm for the newly released Sony Xperia 10 VII.

This latest mid-range model introduces some fresh updates while holding onto the signature Xperia identity. The sharp rectangular display, the presence of a 3.5mm headphone jack, and expandable storage via microSD are features that many users consider non-negotiable—and they’re increasingly rare in this category.

Price was a sticking point for some voters. Even so, the poll results showed a clear preference, with a 5-to-1 ratio of people saying “I want one” compared to those unwilling to pay the asking price. While the Xperia 10 VII isn’t cheap, its premium positioning is consistent with what we’ve come to expect from Sony devices.

We expected sharper criticism about the hardware, but the response was more balanced than anticipated. Some users wished Sony had opted for a Snapdragon 7-series processor instead of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. Others missed the dedicated telephoto camera that was present on the Xperia 10 V, and a few longed for the return of a USB 3 port with video output a feature that last appeared back on the Xperia 10 III.

It seems that those dissatisfied with the hardware gravitated toward competing mid-range phones. After all, you can find devices in the same price bracket with faster chipsets and larger batteries. Still, those alternatives rarely include both expandable storage and a built-in headphone jack, features that continue to set Xperia apart from the crowd.

The poll results make one thing clear: Sony has cultivated a dedicated community of fans who are happy with the path the Xperia 10 series is taking. Even owners of the flagship Xperia 1 VII voiced their support. Now the challenge for Sony is to expand availability and bring these models to more markets worldwide.
